In addition to her work in education, she leverages her financial management, profit and loss, and auditing expertise through the eponymous Kotz Consulting, where she has helped numerous clients achieve their financial goals. Previously, Ms. Kotz-Fresch was a business teacher and assistant athletic director at Elyria High School between 2010 and 2016, where she inspired and guided her students toward business success.
Before establishing herself in the educational field, Ms. Kotz-Fresch utilized estate and financial planning techniques to help clients in portfolio, estate, and business succession planning as a certified financial manager and Assistant Vice President at Merrill Lynch. From 1999 until 2009, she has calculated short-, intermediate-, and long-term goals for high-net-worth clients. During the early stages of her career, Ms. Kotz-Fresch was a Vice President for Key Investments, during which time she increased assets under management from $30 million to over $65 million.
An expert in her field, Ms. Kotz-Fresch holds an Associate of Applied Science in accounting from Ohio Business College, a Bachelor of Science in finance with a minor in accounting, and an MBA in global management from Ashland University, which recognized her with an Outstanding Graduate Award with Honors and a member of Delta Mu Delta designation. Subsequently, she expanded her professional knowledge by completing series 7, 63, and 65 licenses and a life, health, and variable annuity license.
In conjunction with her work, Ms. Kotz-Fresch aligned herself with a local Condo Owner Association, where she had been a volunteer board member for over 20 years, and the United Church of Christ, through which she volunteered for mission trips. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in having her students participate in business competitions, which allows them to compete for cash and academic scholarships. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she credits her success to her father and grandfather for her business acumen. Looking forward, Ms. Kotz-Fresch intends to continue developing a program and providing scholarships for her students while mentoring other teachers in Ohio.
