As a principal consulting engineer, he assists companies with primary standards and guidance material, produces compliant data to demonstrate compliance with the objectives and is involved with FAA certification guidance and training for ARP4754, DO-178c, DO-278, DO-254, DO-330, and DO-160. In recent years, Mr. Duncan has worked with such clients as Engineered Propulsion Systems on a Part 33 engine development, Wind River, contributing to the oversight of several tools and operating systems, and OADS Manassas VA, where he oversaw process development and served as a subject matter expert for the DO-254 effort on a LiDAR-based sensor for use in space.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Duncan gained valuable expertise in various engineering and consulting roles with Bombardier, Crane Aerospace, L3 Communications, Shadin Inc., and Gables Engineering. Throughout his career, he has worked with many notable clients, including Northrop Grumman, Boeing Military Aerospace, Bosch Aviation, Goodrich, Honeywell, and Programmed and Remote Systems. Similarly, he has held short-term and long-term consulting positions regarding process development and gap analysis, audit preparation, and tailored technical training. Due to his vast knowledge, Mr. Duncan has also contributed to several articles in professional journals.
An expert in his field, Mr. Duncan completed coursework in engineering at Iowa State University and University of Minnesota in computer science on an audit basis as furthering education. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he has aligned himself with the DO-254 Users Groups and a large number of issue-specific industry groups. Dedicated to his community, Mr. Duncan also consistently volunteers with local charities and organizations.
