As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Backed by years of legal and insurance expertise, Mr. Lipshultz excels as an independent consultant, expert witness, and insurance instructor with Lipshultz Consulting Group. In this capacity, he leverages over 50 years of experience to consult on various insurance matters, including agent and broker standard of care, industry custom and practice, bad faith and coverage, and claims handling. Before establishing his practice, he worked as a consultant for the Maryland Insurance Administration and partnered with the Law Firm of Lipshultz and Hone Chartered.

During the early stages of his career, Mr. Lipshultz gained valuable in both industries as an associate with Friedman & Lipshultz, a government loan specialist with the Federal National Mortgage Association, and a claims adjuster and liability supervisor for the Insurance Company of North America. Over the years, Mr. Lipshultz has also spoken at CPCU Annual Meetings and the Congress of the South Forty, in addition to serving as outside coverage counsel for the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund.

An expert in his field, Mr. Lipshultz holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Washington University in St. Louis and a JD from the American University Washington College of Law. Upon graduating from law school, he was admitted to practice through the District of Columbia Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth, Sixth, and District of Columbia Circuits, and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Throughout his career, Mr. Lipshultz also became a chartered property casualty underwriter and certified in risk management, construction scheduling, cost control, bonds, liens, and insurance.

Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Lipshultz aligns himself with the American Association of Insurance Management Consultants and the CPCU Society in Washington, DC. Over the years, he has also affiliated with the Society of Insurance Trainers and Educators, the Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association, and the Maryland Defense Counsel. Outside of work, Mr. Lipshultz contributes to his community as a legal adviser with the Prince George's County Boys & Girls Club.

Due to his vast breadth of knowledge, Mr. Lipshultz has authored several publications, including "Perspectives on the Special Relationship: Wakefern, Tiara and Ross," "Commingling and the Insurance Professional," "Independent Insurance Agents Duties in Maryland," and "When a Special Agent-Insured Relationship Imposes a Heightened Legal Duty." Gottheimer Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions to Insurance Education. Additionally, he received the President's Education Award through the Independent Insurance Agents of Maryland and an AV-Preeminent Rating through Martindale-Hubbell.

While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Lipshultz takes the most pride in all that he has achieved despite having paralytic polio in 1950. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to his desire to prove others wrong and his father, who was his mentor and one of the finest lawyers he had ever known. His father didn't graduate from high school, but he was dedicated and received a GED after his son was born. His mother, who left an impressive legacy by raising four sons, was also one of his mentors. Looking forward, Mr. Lipshultz aims to continue teaching and consulting.
