As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Shehan has carved a distinguished career at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), where she has been the vice president of the analytical services division since 2019. In this role, she oversees a team dedicated to providing resources, data analysis, and intelligence on cases involving missing and abducted children, attempted abduction of children, child sex trafficking, and noncompliant sex offenders. Ms. Shehan's leadership extends to managing the division's budget and strategizing for future developments.

Ms. Shehan's journey at the NCMEC is a testament to her growth and increasing responsibilities. Before her current role, she served as the executive director of the organization's case analysis division from 2015 to 2019. Her earlier roles include director and deputy director of the case analysis division, outreach manager for the nonprofit's NetSmartz Workshop, where Ms. Shehan developed educational materials on internet safety for children, and supervisor and senior analyst for the exploited children division, dating back to 2001. One of the most significant contributions of Ms. Shehan's career was her pivotal role in establishing two crucial teams: the sex offenders trafficking team in 2006 and the child sex trafficking team in 2011. These initiatives, born out of her proactive approach and unwavering dedication to child safety, have flourished under her guidance, now encompassing a minimum of 20 committed staff members each and earning national recognition for their contributions.

Ms. Shehan's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and criminal justice from La Salle University in 1999. Her commitment to professional development is further evidenced by her completion of several certifications focused on leadership, diversity, inclusion, and unconscious bias between 2017 and 2021 from LinkedIn Learning and Cornell University. These certifications have undoubtedly contributed to Ms. Shehan's success by enhancing her leadership skills and her ability to foster an inclusive work environment.

Adding to her success and expertise, Ms. Shehan is a member of the national advisory committee on the Sex Trafficking of Children and Youth in the U.S.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Shehan is deeply committed to personal growth and lifelong learning. Her dedication extends beyond her current achievements as she aims to further develop her career toward senior executive roles while continuing her education in organizational planning and strategy. Ms. Shehan credits her accomplishments thus far to her passion for her field and her proven track record of excellence in program development and other areas of her role.

In light of her success, Ms. Shehan has been recognized with inclusion in her high school hall of fame.
