In 2010, Mr. Lee was promoted to principal environmental scientist, a role he held for a decade before becoming the interim assistant general manager in 2020, assistant general manager in 2021, and ultimately, his current position as general manager in 2023.
Before his history at the Solano County Water Agency, Mr. Lee worked as an environmental scientist at the California Department of Water Resources from 2001 to 2004. He previously garnered success as an environmental planner and staff biologist at the California Department of Transportation between 1997 and 2001. Throughout these roles, Mr. Lee developed a comprehensive understanding of environmental regulations and policies that have been instrumental in his success.
Mr. Lee's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in biological Sciences from California State University in 1997. In addition to his professional achievements, he is actively involved in several industry-related organizations. He serves on the boards of directors for the State Water Contractors and the California Central Valley Flood Control Association and is a member of the Groundwater Resources Association of California. Mr. Lee attributes much of his success to the support from his in-laws from the Philippines and his early experiences of striving for more despite various challenges.
Looking ahead, Mr. Lee aims to delegate some of his responsibilities to his employees to focus more on mentoring and coaching the next generation. His primary goal is to ensure that the Solano County Water Agency remains in capable hands when he eventually steps down from his role.
