Leveraging more than 20 years of professional experience, Ms. Helton specializes in the hospitality sector in the fields of horse racing and casino management. Since 2020, she has excelled as the president and general manager of FanDuel Sportsbook and Horse Racing, which has operated out of Fairmount Park in Collinsville, Illinois. In her positions, Ms. Helton focuses her attention on business operations and finance.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Helton worked as the senior vice president of finance at del Lago Resort & Casino in Waterloo, New York, between 2018 and 2020 and the director of finance operations at Centaur Gaming at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino between 2015 and 2018. Initially joining the team at Centaur Gaming in 2013, she was the senior manager of finance and accounting at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino until 2015. Prior to these appointments, she was a controller for Arizona Biltmore, Apache Gold Casino Resort and Tropicana-Belle of Baton Rouge. She commenced her career in 1998 as an operations controller at Caesars Indiana until 2010.
Ms. Helton has also served on the board of directors of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and the United States Department of Agriculture. Likewise, she serves as the owner of her eponymous business, Creative Captures by Melissa. Attributing much of her success to the positive influence of her mentors – including her first boss, who taught her the fundamentals of industry success – Ms. Helton is especially gratified by her role in changing the company culture of FanDuel Sportsbook and Horse Racing. In this regard, she emphasizes the importance of open communication in the workplace and has always had an open-door policy.

Ms. Helton pursued formal education at Indiana University Southeast, studying at the academic institution beginning in 1996. She subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 2003.
