Marta Riggins Lauded for Excellence in Branding, Company Culture & Communications

Marta Riggins channels years of expertise in her work as a strategic consultant

Baked by years of employee communications, branding, and experiential expertise, Ms. Riggins excels as a strategic consultant specializing in employer brand and employee engagement in private practice. Through her work, she supports teams in increasing employee engagement and employer brand while elevating underrepresented voices. Similarly, she develops creative brand and recruitment marketing tactics strategies to attract top talent. Previously, Ms. Riggins boosted recruiting goals via strategic messaging and targeted campaigns, integrated a food-themed employer brand across the employee experience and kept the company connected through employee communications as the Director of Employer Brand and Employee Engagement for Instacart. She also launched #GiveFromtheCart to benefit Feeding America to help address rising food insecurity amid COVID-19.

During the early stages of her careers, Ms. Riggins honed her knowledge through leadership roles in branding, community marketing, and social impact in various roles with LinkedIn and Pandora Music, through which she launched the employee storytelling podcast "People of Pandora," and increased volunteerism at industry events such as South by Southwest, and The Grammy's. Over the years, Ms. Riggins has gained insights through roles with AOL, TMZ, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, Innovative Artists, Planned Parenthood Federation and Health Net.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Riggins developed custom and creative brand solutions for various organizations, acted as liaison between clients, casting directors, ad agencies, and managers, and created an innovative marketing campaign for movies such as The Bourne Ultimatum, which was recognized in The Hollywood Reporter. An expert in her field, she earned a Bachelor or Arts in organizational communication with a minor in women's studies from California State University, Chico. Subsequently, Ms. Riggins expanded her professional knowledge by completing a leadership boot camp, at the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business.

In conjunction with her work, Ms. Riggins is a member of professional group Mixing Board for brand and communications leaders. Since 2023 she has also been an executive board member of the San Francisco Silent Film Festival, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving silent cinema. She also aligns herself with the Surfrider Foundation. Through her career, Ms. Riggins has led corporate partnerships and company volunteerism with Larkin Street Youth Services, Feeding America, Maven Youth, Musicians on Call, Calling All Crows, the Los Angeles LGBT Center, the Ally Coalition and Little Kids Rock.

Given her professional achievements, Ms. Riggins was named a Culture Changer by Women 2.0 in 2014, and received the Interactive Breakout Trend of the Event Award by South by Southwest in 2016. More recently, she earned the LinkedIn Marketing and Communications Impact Award. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in incorporating Pandora's music culture into the employee experience and playing a vital role in working with the LGBTQ+ ERG to help advocate for the company to adopt gender affirmation surgery in the employee benefits package back in 2014.Though hard work and determination have brought her far in her career, she credits her success to collaborating with incredible mentors. In the next three to five years, Ms. Riggins aims to pursue meaningful work while spending more time with her family and contributing to her community.
