Mr. Medley's journey in education began in 1983 as a teacher for the Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools in New Jersey. After two years, he enjoyed a successful tenure at AT&T, from 1985 to 2000, only to find himself back in the classroom. Mr. Medley's passion for teaching led him to pivot again, starting as an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1998, where he spent the next five years. During that time, he also secured a position as an elementary school teacher, eighth-grade literacy coach, and facilitator at Paterson Public Schools in Paterson, New Jersey, from 2000 to 2005. Mr. Medley then advanced to the role of elementary and middle school vice principal from 2005 to 2010 before assuming his current position as principal.

He was also a Passaic County Community College faculty member from 2006 to 2010. Mr. Medley's expertise extends beyond the classroom as well. He has been inspiring others through his Saturday morning radio talk show, "The Reading Circle with Marc Medley," on WP88.7 FM and gobrave.org, which he has hosted since 2001. He has also been serving as a publishing advisory board member and social media journalism marketing professional with Universal Write Publications LLC since 2019.
During his tenure at AT&T, Mr. Medley was a consumer marketing manager and professional development workshop facilitator. He also frequently presented and lectured on behalf of the telecommunications company. While employed by AT&T, Mr. Medley honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force Air National Guard from 1987 to 1996.
Mr. Medley's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from William Paterson College, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from William Paterson University, and a Master of Arts in Corporate & Organizational Communications from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Social Justice at William Paterson University.
Apart from his work-related endeavors, Mr. Medley's commitment to civic engagement is evident through his involvement with various organizations, including the United Negro College Fund and Passaic County Habitat for Humanity, William Paterson College Alumni Association, and he has served in many capacities at Saint Luke Baptist Church in Paterson, NJ. Earlier in his career, he was involved in local politics, serving as campaign manager for a school board candidate and a city council candidate.
Mr. Medley has been recognized for his contributions with awards such as the Outstanding Soldier of the Year Award (New Jersey Air National Guard), Alpha Man of the Year Award (Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.), Teacher of the Year Award, and Most Outstanding Radio Talk Show Award.
