Building on a career spanning over five decades, Ms. Eddy bas served as an account executive and nurse liaison for Liberty Medical Specialties since 2016. In this role, she coordinates with case managers, nursing staff and home health agencies to manage discharges from multiple major hospitals, including UNC Hospital and Duke University Hospital. Ms. Eddy heads up training for facility and home health nurses, as well as families who will need to perform home infusion, and prides herself on being a strong teacher.
Before joining Liberty Medical Specialties, Ms. Eddy spent 10 years as the infusion case manager for the University of North Carolina's Women's and Children's Hospital, providing careful assistance and discharge plans for patients on infusion therapy. Her extensive experience includes stints as a home infusion coordinator at Mid-Carolina Homecare Specialists, a home infusion nurse and pediatric nurse at UNC Home Health, and a nursing supervisor at Chartwell Southeast Home Therapies, each of which built her mastery as a nurse and an expert in the realm of infusion in particular.
While working for Quantum Health Resources, Ms. Eddy was promoted from nurse clinician to supervisor and then manager, demonstrating her skill and ability to take on increasing responsibility. Simultaneous to this, she also contributed to Rex Hospital as a staff nurse in the pediatric department and a home therapy specialist. Ms. Eddy gained foundational experience in infusion while working as a nurse clinician for New England Critical Care Infusion Co. She began her career with nearly 20 years as a charge nurse in pediatric special care at Manchester Memorial Hospital in Connecticut.
Ms. Eddy's academic background includes a diploma in nursing earned from the Meriden-Wallingford School of Nursing in 1969. Since then, she has completed certification for pediatric nursing, infusion nursing, PICC line insertion and basic cardiac life support. Ms. Eddy maintains membership in the Infusion Nurses Society, signifying her commitment to staying educated on her field's latest standards and practices. She credits her success to the love and support of her husband, as well as her upbringing.
Ms. Eddy's contributions have been recognized with many accolades. She received Recognition of Excellence from New England Critical Care Infusion three years in a row, followed by being named Employee of the Quarter in 1989. In 1992, Ms. Eddy was honored with the President's Award and the Director's Award from Quantum Health Resources. She is also a two-time recipient of Nurse of the Year from the University of North Carolina Hospital.
Beyond her career, Ms. Eddy is known for her contributions to civic causes within her community. She served in the vestry and as a church school teacher for St. John's Episcopal Church and spent four years on the board of education in Windsor Locks, CT. While living in Windsor Locks, Ms. Eddy also aided the town as an organizer, chairman, and junior troop leader for the local branch of the Girl Scouts. She volunteered her services as a camp nurse at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp and as a secretary for the Windsor Locks Jaycee Wives.
Outside of her professional life, Ms. Eddy finds joy in gardening, crocheting, baking and fishing. She is passionate about her faith, her family, her profession and her country. Looking to the future, Ms. Eddy has begun writing a memoir and plans to complete it so that her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren can learn about her life. She looks forward to many more years of good health and sharing her knowledge with others.
