Mr. Mathew's commitment to continuous learning and professional development is evident as an expert in his field. He earned a diploma in electronics from Nettur Technical Training Foundation in 2003 and a Master of Science in real-time embedded systems from Coventry University in 2009. Subsequently, he expanded his professional knowledge by completing an executive MBA through the Quantic School of Business and Technology and becoming a certified quality auditor and engineer through the American Society for Quality. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Mathew aligns himself with the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, demonstrating his dedication to staying at the forefront of his industry.
In conjunction with his work, Mr. Mathew volunteers in his community by packing food with Second Harvest Heartland and a home-building project with Habitat. Given his outstanding achievements, he won the JM Juran Award from the American Society for Quality's Delaware chapter. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in resolving a major issue with his former employer. After the FDA issued a warning letter to the company, he was sought out to address the company's risk management procedures. For two years, he worked alongside the company to develop a new process and, eventually, software that aligned with it. His dedication paid off when the FDA cleared them of the warning letter after remediating the DHFs.
Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Mathew credits his success to his relationships with others. He recently published a book with ASQ, "Mastering Safety Risk Management for Medical and In Vitro Devices," which he co-authored. Ultimately, Mr. Mathew aims to lead the quality department at AbbVie and become a prominent figure in the industry.
