Mr. Baas began his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen LLP from 1993 to 1995. He then served as assistant corporate controller at Planet Hollywood International from 1996 to 1999, where he was recognized as Employee of the Month in 1998. Following this, he worked as a consultant from 1999 to 2001 before becoming director of accounting at CuraScript Inc., an Express Scripts Co., from 2001 to 2002. His role as finance manager at The Martin-Brower Company from 2002 to 2006 further solidified his expertise.
From 2006 to 2009, Mr. Baas was the chief financial officer at I.S. Investments DBA Stonegate Land Company. He then founded Baas Financial Consulting, where he served as owner until 2015. During this period, he also held the position of director of finance and global business process owner at Asurion from 2010 to 2017. His tenure at Bridgestone Americas as senior finance manager from 2017 to 2019 and director of retail accounting at Delek US Holdings Inc. from 2019 to 2020 showcased his ability to manage complex financial operations.
In 2021, Mr. Baas started consulting again under the company, MB Consulting. He has had several clients in Middle Tennessee and other parts of the U.S. remotely, servicing small to medium-sized companies in the capacity as VP of Finance, and Controller roles while permanent replacements are found as well as helping some clients with special projects. In 2023, Mr. Baas purchased an existing cleaning company in Middle Tennessee, At Your Service, LLC, that is managed by the existing team while he provides overall strategy guidance, accounting, and marketing services for the business.

Mr. Baas holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a master's degree in accounting systems with high honors from the University of Florida, both earned in 1993. He is a certified public accountant through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a certified scrum product owner through Scrum Alliance.
Known for his civic engagement, Mr. Baas is actively involved in various organizations. He has served as president of the board of directors for Whetstone Homeowners Association from 2017 to 2019 and has been a head coach for Brentwood Ballclub since 2016, having coached there since 2014. He has also coached for the YMCA of Middle Tennessee since 2008 and volunteered with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida from 2002 to 2005.
In addition to being a member of Beta Alpha Psi, Mr. Baas is an author, having published "Start Consulting and Fire Your Boss" in 2023. His academic accolades include receiving the Monsanto Fellowship in 1992 and a full academic scholarship to the University of Florida in 1988.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Baas is dedicated to his family and enjoys spending time with them. Looking ahead, he plans to continue consulting for approximately five more years and then step back and focus on managing multiple successful businesses with minimal involvement, allowing him more time for family, travel, and other interests.
