FRIENDSWOOD, TX, July 12, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Miles A. Smither has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A seasoned engineer with years of expertise in sensor, high temperature electronic, data communication, and seismic system design, Dr. Smither excels as the president of Circuit Concepts, Inc., an electronic design consultancy. Over the years, he has designed and developed various products, including a precision, micro-controller based power controller, a 16 channel conducitivity meter, unique down-hole thermal packaging, SVG-based log report programs, and a linear circuit simulator/optimizer. While successfully maintaining Circuit Concepts, Dr. Smither parlayed his expertise to others at the University of Houston as an instructor, lecturer, and adjunct associate professor of electrical engineering.

During the early stages of his career, Dr. Smither gained valuable expertise in design and development engineering, management, and more through Mandrel Products, Apollo Systems, the University of Houston, Laura Recovery Center, Libertarian Party of Texas, and NASA's Manned Spacecraft Center. Due to his vast knowledge, he has obtained patents for such products as an instantaneous floating point amplifier, a borehole acoustic telemetry system synchronous detector, and a hiline interference eliminator. Likewise, Dr. Smither has authored numerous articles, including "Temperature profiles of targets bombarded by electron beams," "Implementation of an Ideal Circuit Element," and "Modeling the Noise Pickup of Seismic Cable."

Before starting his professional journey, Dr. Smither earned a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Houston in 1967, 1968, and 1978 respectively. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he aligns himself with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Outside of his work, Dr. Smither contributes to his community as a volunteer with the Armand Bayou Nature Center and as co-founder of the Rural Recovery Center, which was established after his daughter was abducted and murdered in 1997.

Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Dr. Smither credits his success to his passion for what he does. Looking toward the future, he intends to experience his career's continued growth and success with Circuit Concepts, Inc.
