Before his tenure at Brightcove Inc., Dr. Reznik held the director position at InterDigital Inc. in San Diego from 2011 to 2016. During this period, he was instrumental in driving forward innovative projects and research initiatives. Dr. Reznik also garnered success as a staff engineer at Qualcomm in San Diego between 2005 and 2011, where he developed cutting-edge technologies that have had a lasting impact on the industry. Earlier, he worked for RealNetworks in Seattle as a principal engineer from 1998 to 2005. His work was instrumental in laying the foundation for his future achievements in multimedia streaming technology.
Apart from his primary career endeavors, Dr. Reznik had the opportunity to serve as a visiting scholar at Stanford University from 2007 to 2008, enhancing his expertise and academic contributions. He has been a reviewer for the European Commission since 2011. A prolific inventor and researcher, Dr. Reznik holds 85 patents and has authored over 150 published papers.
Born in former Soviet Union, now Ukraine, Dr. Reznik studied locally. He earned an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering with a focus on radio, television, and digital communication in 1992 and a graduate degree in electrical engineering in 1995 from the National Technical University of Ukraine. He also garnered a Doctor of Philosophy in computer science from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2005.
Dr. Reznik is actively involved in several industry-related organizations. He is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and the Association for Computing Machinery, holds senior memberships with the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, is the co-chair of the players and playback working group for the Streaming Video Technology Alliance, and is the vice chair of the interoperability working group for the DASH Industry Forum. Additionally, Dr. Reznik has been an expert editor and AHG chair for the Moving Pictures Experts Group since 2001.
Dr. Reznik's contributions to the field have been recognized with two coveted Technology and Engineering Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2021, an honor that only a select few companies in television history have achieved.
