In parallel with his corporate career, Mr. Wells leveraged his time and expertise to public service during his tenure as a city council member for Riverton City, Utah, from 2019 to 2024. Although he could have remained active in local politics, he chose not to run again for council after his wife fell ill so he could spend more of his free time with his family.
Before venturing into entrepreneurship with the establishment of his private investment firm, Mr. Wells excelled in sales as a national sales manager for US Vinyl Fence and First Choice Fence Products. He was also a general manager for the western region with Rocky Mountain Vinyl Supply LLC and a territory sales manager for Bager Rocky Mountain. Prior to pivoting into sales and management, Mr. Wells flourished in other fields with several leading companies, including Bard Access Systems, as the director of materials in the medical industry. During an earlier stage of his career, he worked for E-Systems Inc. as a material cost engineer and senior buyer, dating back to 1978.
Committed to lifelong learning and personal development, Mr. Wells earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and studied Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Utah. Mr. Wells's dedication to excellence is underscored by several credentials, including as a lifetime certified purchasing manager through the National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM), certification through the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Government contracting program through Georgetown University, and was a Lloyds of London IS9000 certified Auditor. He is certified as an instructor through the American Fence Association.
Mr. Wells's expertise is recognized through his involvement in several industry-related organizations. He was an active member of the Point of the Mountain advisory committee and the Utah Land Authority. He has also held board positions on the South Valley Sewer District, the Association of Municipal Councils, the Riverton Fire Service Area, the Unified Fire Authority, and the Redevelopment Agency, among others. Furthermore, Mr. Wells's leadership was acknowledged through his service on the board of directors and board of governors for the American Fence Association.
Besides his professional contributions, Mr. Wells has been committed to giving through his volunteer work with orphanages in Haiti. He has also been actively engaged with Rotary International, where he was honored with the Paul Harris Fellow Award. As part of his legacy, Mr. Wells is penning 10 books, one for each of his grandchildren.
