Concurrently, Mr. Kirby holds the position of executive director at MWK Data Services LLC, a consulting business he founded in 2020. Through MWK, he has assisted clients in product management, data monetization, IT infrastructure development and other challenging processes, but that has shifted into a background role as he has committed fully to the RTX project.
Prior to joining RTX Fintech & Research, Mr. Kirby built his reputation as a senior sales and business development manager at TraditionData and a sales director at CME Group Inc. His extensive experience includes stints as the head of the Americas for the data services business at NEX Group PLC (formerly ICAP PLC) and as the managing director and head of the Americas at Tullett Prebon Information. Mr. Kirby's career started with a lengthy tenure of almost two decades at Prebon Yamane Inc., where he began in 1981 as an accountant, then a money markets broker and an analytics software developer before founding Prebon's market data business in 1990. He received impactful mentorship from Prebon Yamane's chief executive officer during this time, providing him with encouragement and inspiration for his career journey.
Mr. Kirby's academic background includes coursework in electrical engineering at Hofstra University and coursework in accounting at Pace University. He has been certified as a financial information associate by the Software and Information Industry Association's Financial & Information Services Division ("SIFMA"). Mr. Kirby attributes his success to his foresight in shifting from traditional accounting roles into a broader career in the financial industry. He believes this transition proved beneficial to his clients and his future.
As part of his commitment to continued learning, Mr. Kirby is affiliated with numerous industry-related organizations. He maintains membership in SIFMA, the Software and Information Industry Association, and the International Swaps and Derivatives Association. Additionally, Mr. Kirby has both shared and expanded his insight in his field by attending and speaking in panel discussions at events such as the World Financial Information Conference, Risk.net and SIFMA conferences.
Outside of his career, Mr. Kirby is a devoted husband and father to two daughters. He finds relaxation through playing golf.
