A career in retail marked by extensive advancement, Ms. Lugo began at Kmart in Puerto Rico in 1991 as a Replenisher and Merchandiser and quickly advanced through various roles, including Apparel Department Manager, Divisional Manager, Assistant Manager, Operations Manager, and Store Manager. She then spent her remaining years with the organization as a District Manager between 2007 and 2019, until the company's bankruptcy in 2019.
Following her departure from Kmart, Ms. Lugo secured a position as District Manager for Dollar General later that year. Subsequently, she spent a year as a Store Manager for Lowe's Companies Inc. between 2021 and 2022. Ms. Lugo also ventured into entrepreneurship by co-founding Ship Fast and More LLC in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in 2021, offering an array of postal, shipping, printing, and notary services for residents and businesses.
Ms. Lugo graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez in 1993. Apart from her professional and educational ventures, she has been actively involved with civic-minded organizations, such as the March of Dimes in Puerto Rico, where she served as the director of revenue and member of the board of directors from 2017 to 2019. Additionally, Ms. Lugo has served as a fundraising captain for Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital and Hospital Oncológico in Puerto Rico.
Ms. Lugo's achievements include being recognized as the Top Gun District Manager at Kmart multiple times between 2012 and 2014. Besides her accolades, she is particularly proud of her ability to achieve success after relocating to the U.S. from her native Puerto Rico.
Eager to continue her professional journey with Reima, Ms. Lugo also envisions expanding Ship Fast and More based on the success of the company.
