Alongside his work with Paramount Group, he has taught numerous classes at the City College of San Francisco since 1999. As an adjunct professor, Mr. Yin continues to facilitate such classes as Criminal Law, Legal Aspects of Criminal Law, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Organized Crime, Criminal Investigations, Narcotics Investigations, terrorism and Counterterrorism, and Criminal Justice Report Writing.
During the various stages of his career, Mr. Yin gained valuable expertise in law enforcement based education as an adjunct faculty member with the Louisiana State University National Center for Biomedical Research and Training and as a certified California Master Instructor. Likewise, he has held numerous management and law enforcement positions including that of being the Regional Director of the Security the Cities Program for the Bay Urban Area Security Initiative as well as numerous commands within the San Francisco Police Department as a Police Captain. Dedicated to his country, Mr. Yin also served as a military intelligence officer in the Army National Guard and a Navy Reserve JAGC officer.
An expert in his field, Mr. Yin holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Science in adult education from San Francisco State University, a Master of Arts from the University of San Francisco, and a JD from the UCLA School of Law. Upon graduating, he became licensed to practice through the State Bar of California.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Yin aligns himself with the State Bar of California, the California Police Chiefs Association, the National Asian Peace Officers' Association, the North California Asian Peace Officers Association, and the San Francisco Police Officers' Association. Due to his vast knowledge, Mr. Yin has contributed to several publications including the following topics, "Manipulative Holographic Communications," "Continuous Professional Training for Police Service Aides," and "Law Enforcement in Asian-American Community."
In light of his professional accomplishments, Mr. Yin won two Lifesaving Awards from the local police department, three Police Commendation Awards, a Meritorious Service Award, as well as several military service medals.
Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Yin credits his success to his commitment to lifelong learning, unyielding persistence, and the steadfast support of his family. He intends to transition from civil service to the private sector.
