Ms. Gold has had a distinguished career as a psychotherapist and motivational speaker. Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to helping individuals move from "Crisis To Capacity"©. Helping her clients navigate complex emotional difficulties through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), insight-oriented, and drama therapy has enabled them to develop insights and skills to create positive change in all aspects of their lives. Ms. Gold's expertise in these therapeutic approaches is widely recognized and has earned her a reputation for excellence in her field. Her private practice offers counseling and coaching services for individuals, couples, and families ages 3-80. Ms. Gold is passionate and dedicated to supporting the highly sensitive person (HSP) in pursuing their gifts and managing their mental health struggles, empowering her clients to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. Ms. Gold most values collaboration, creativity, and compassion in her work.

She received her BA in Elementary Education/Psychology from the University of Bridgeport in 1976, and then earned her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University in 1982. With a passion for theater and acting, Ms. Gold studied with Ellen Strasberg and David Gideon at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute (1978), where she honed her acting and performance skills, which have been particularly instrumental in her use of drama therapy today. As an adjunct professor at Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT, (1986-1992), she worked with the Fairfield Adult Career Education Services group (FACES) under Dr. Vilma Allen, teaching career change for men and women in transition, and with the Management Training Institute (MTI) under the direction of Valerie Held, teaching women how to rebuild their skills in preparation for the workplace.

Ms. Gold has been a certified guardian ad litem (GAL) since 2011, and is pursuing certification from the US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights (USIDHR). Throughout her career, Ms. Gold has been an active member of industry-related organizations such as the American Counseling Association/numerous divisions (ACA) (1982-present), Legacy Member National Speakers Association (NSA) (1995-present), Academy of Professional Consultants and Advisors (APCA) (1996), and Worldwide Women's Association (2023-present). Her involvement in these associations underscores her commitment to professional development and her desire to contribute to the broader discourse within her field.

With her educational background and a desire to reach a vast audience, Ms. Gold has always understood that the best way to achieve her goals and the goals of others would be through collaboration with like-minded individuals. To that end, she founded Ilise Gold Associates (IGA 1982) and then expanded her services, co-founding Ilise Gold Productions (IGP 1990) with her partner Fritz Heilbron. In 1991, merging the two businesses, they formed Ilise Gold Life Management LLC (IGLM), her core business today. In addition, she co-founded the following businesses: Business Advisors Network, Westport, CT (2002-2005), Transitional Change, LLC (2017-present), and HSP Claim the Gift, LLC (2023-present). As a highly sensitive person (HSP), Ms. Gold's latest venture was formed to empower HSP's and their families by developing awareness, creating acceptance, providing community support, and teaching coping strategies so people with this innate gift can thrive and live more fulfilling lives. Ms. Gold is currently presenting her first HSP interactive seminar launching "The Gold Standard HSP Trait Inventory"©. Through creating an online community, podcasts, and motivational products, along with a nationwide speaking tour, Ms. Gold is looking forward to sharing her knowledge with mass audiences.

With achievements extending beyond her clinical practice and memberships, many of her other accomplishments include instructional and motivational programs for corporations, associations, and community events. She developed the 1 and 2 day interactive seminars: "Change Works"© (1994), "Unhooked From Anger Moving Beyond Your History"© (1995) and "Intimate Connections"© (1996). She also wrote "Solutions," a weekly column for Minuteman Journal Westport/Weston CT, (1993-1994), and co-developed "What's Next? How To Achieve Success In An Ever Changing World," an audio tape series at WNLK Norwalk, CT with radio host Frank Marro.

Ms. Gold has been interviewed multiple times throughout her career, covering diversified topics in both regional and national publications, most notably, the front page of The New York Times Connecticut Q&A section "Reviving Dreams and Making Changes'' (1994), The New York Times Style Section "Relationship-Quitting A Job Gracefully" (1985), The Daily News, The Boston Globe, Fairfield County Business Journal, and The Norwalk Hour. Magazine articles have appeared in Money, Self, Redbook, and Fast Company. Ms. Gold has frequently been a guest speaker for numerous radio talk show programs spanning the Eastern Seaboard.

Ms. Gold has additionally shared her theories, insights, and strategies with audiences as a keynote speaker and seminar facilitator through her involvement with the Speakers Bureau of the National Speakers Association (NSA). Most notably, Inc. Magazine, G. Fox, American Nurses Association (ANA), Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), MIT Alumni Association, and the NYU Stern School of Business Alumni Association, to name a few.

As a consultant, Ms. Gold sold the concept that the worker of the future was not the worker of the day. With her theory in hand, she developed a customizable program, "The Worker of The Future"©, to align with an individual company's culture and growth goals. The program was designed so that change was incremental, not drastic, allowing employees to have the necessary time to develop the new skills that would be required to support "The Worker of The Future"©.

With the foresight and clarity to observe the world and societal changes that were coming, Ms. Gold is credited with developing and implementing in her daily therapeutic approach with her clients the theories of "Four Character Selves Within Me-The Personal Change Model"©, "Social Chaos To Social Change"©, "Five Stages Of Healthy Change- Moving From Crisis To Capacity"© and "Five Life Principles To Guide You Through Transitional Change"©.
