    MANASSAS PARK, VA, July 25, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Mohamed K. Kamaludeen, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Having worked in grid and systems integration, operations, and maintenance for over 15 years, Dr. Kamaludeen currently serves as the Director of energy storage validation for the United States Department of Energy. In this role, he validates new technologies related to energy storage and helps bring these Technologies to Market (T2M). This includes designing, executing, and evaluating a research, development, and demonstration portfolio that accelerates commercial adoption of next-generation grid storage technologies. Dr. Kamaludeen is also responsible for developing and advocating for the energy storage budget and strategy with Congress and oversees several U.S National Labs Research, Development and Deployment (RD&D) initiatives on energy storage and clean energy deployment. Additionally, he supports the next generation of electrical engineers as an adjunct associate professor at Columbia University, teaching the school's first graduate-level course in energy storage systems integration.

Before beginning with the Department of Energy, Dr. Kamaludeen built his reputation as an energy storage department manager for Consolidated Edison Company of New York Inc. He joined Consolidated Edison as an associate engineer in 2008 before being promoted to engineering supervisor, senior planning analyst, manager, project manager, and finally, department manager. Dr. Kamaludeen's tenure at Consolidated Edison was marked by impressive strides forward, including managing essential infrastructure investment decisions in the New York City metropolitan area, providing guidance on the electrical grid to non-engineers, and helping to distribute over $1 billion in infrastructure investments. Concurrent with his work at Consolidated Edison, he offered insight as an independent consultant on clean energy and as an instructor at the Bronx Community College's Center for Sustainable Energy. Dr. Kamaludeen started his career as a project engineer with Tiffany & Co. in 2008, where he managed the manufacture of high-end jewelry products throughout their life cycle.

A strong educational foundation has greatly aided Dr. Kamaludeen's career. He received an Associate of Science in Engineering from the Bronx Community College in 2004 and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University in 2007. Dr. Kamaludeen has established a strong relationship with The City College of New York, earning a Master of Arts in Economics in 2010, a Master of Mechanical Engineering in 2014, and a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2023. He has earned the prestigious Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification in New York and completed electrical distribution engineering certification by Power Technologies Inc. Dr. Kamaludeen credits his success to the support of his family, especially his grandparents who raised him, and his humble beginnings in his home country of Guyana, which has allowed him to forge connections with people across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Dr. Kamaludeen is involved in various industry-related organizations as part of his commitment to stay updated on the latest trends and breakthroughs in his field. He maintains senior membership in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Pi Tau Sigma, the International Honor Society for Mechanical Engineers. Throughout his professional life, Dr. Kamaludeen has contributed to multiple studies published in such esteemed journals as Sustainability, the Institute of Engineering and Technology's Smart Grid (IET), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics' Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics (AIAA). The publication Consulting-Specifying Engineer honored him with its 40 Under 40 Award in 2022.

Beyond his primary vocation, Dr. Kamaludeen is dedicated to contributing to the broader community through civic engagement. He served on the advisory committee for the Building Energy Smart Technologies Center for two years, as the chair of volunteer engagement at the Harlem Educational Activities Fund for three years, and as a junior board member at the same organization for five years. Dr. Kamaludeen also provides leadership as a member of the steering committee for the United States-India Energy Storage Task Force, showcasing his ability to open dialogue and build strong bi-lateral partnerships across cultures.

Outside of his career, Dr. Kamaludeen is a devoted husband and father to two sons. His vision for the future revolves around his children; he aims to set an example for them by achieving a position at the top of his profession while staying true to his integrity and ethical standards. Dr. Kamaludeen believes ethical conduct is important in all aspects of life. He hopes to teach his children that anything is possible if they remain determined and maintain a strong moral compass.
