The hardware store, which became a True Value dealer in 1976, has expanded significantly from its original single building to encompass five buildings today. After graduating college in 1998, Ms. Menzer began her involvement with the family business.
Ms. Menzer's commitment to excellence in the retail hardware industry is further evidenced by her active participation in several professional organizations. She has served as chairman of the board for both the True Value Coop and the National Retail Hardware Association. Her additional roles as a member of the executive advisory board for ECI and a True Value Representative on the ACON Investment Board highlight her influence and respect within the industry.
Throughout her career, Ms. Menzer has been recognized with numerous awards and honors that reflect her contributions and achievements, including being named the Hardware and Building Supply Woman of the Year in 202.3 She was also granted the Spirit of Independence Award, Top Gun Award, was recognized as Alumni of the Year and has been featured on the cover of several magazines and in numerous articles. Further honors include being featured on HGTV in 2012 and named Young Retailer of the Year in 2006.
Ms. Menzer's educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and management from Pittsburgh State University, which she earned in 1998. This academic foundation has been instrumental in her success as a business owner and leader within her industry.
Ms. Menzer considers it a blessing to have grown up in the family business, as she has been acknowledged for her expertise by her clients and the hardware vendor community. Outside her professional work, she volunteers civically with a variety of organizations, including serving as a youth group leader at her church, coaching youth basketball and volleyball, working as a Boy Scout leader, organizing local community clean-up events and chairing fundraisers for those impacted by natural disasters.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Menzer finds joy in staying active, motivating other women and spending time with her family. Looking ahead, she is committed to participating in public speaking opportunities to encourage individuals to embrace challenges and realize their full potential.
