Mr. Margolis is an expert in healthcare information technology and a noted healthcare industry futurist who has built and helped lead several innovative and impactful healthcare organizations. In his early career, Mr. Margolis helped develop the first managed care consulting practice at Andersen Consulting (now known as Accenture). He then became the Chief Information Officer at a series of managed care companies including Comprecare, TakeCare, Inc., and FHP International. This series of entities evolved into the Western United States operations of United Healthcare, Inc.
In 1997, Mr. Margolis founded the TriZetto Group, Inc., which became a publicly-traded company in 1999. He served as chairman and CEO until 2008, retaining the chairman role until 2011, following a successful take-private transaction. TriZetto has remained the market leader in benefits administration software for health plans over the more than 25 years after its founding. Mr. Margolis subsequently became the chairman and CEO of Welltok, Inc (now part of Personify, Inc).
In addition to the companies where he operated as an executive, Mr. Margolis has served on multiple boards of for profit public and private companies. These include Crocs, NextGen Health, Alignment Health, TriNetX, DNAnexus, Brightside Health, Hydrogen Health and GRIN. He has also served as a strategic advisor to numerous early-stage healthcare companies. In 2020, Mr. Margolis became a Senior Advisor to Blackstone, providing collaborative guidance on healthcare and healthcare information technology companies across Blackstone's powerful array of investment capabilities. Based in New York City, Blackstone is notably recognized as a financial services firm and the world's largest alternative asset manager.
Mr. Margolis also founded and operates Margolis Enterprises, LLC, assisting executives in strategic planning and supporting selective investments with promising companies. He offers various speaking engagements, speaking at professional conferences and industry events, and has become a frequent guest lecturer for nationwide audiences, covering topics on "Repairing the Sickcare System," "Healthcare Entrepreneurship," and more. Moreover, Mr. Margolis has published three books, including "Not Just in Sickness But Also in Health: Moving Beyond Sickcare To Health Optimization For All" in 2021.

In preparation for his career, Mr. Margolis earned a Bachelor of Science with high honors in business administration and management information systems from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 1984. He also holds credentials as a certified public accountant (Inactive) in Colorado and Illinois. Moreover, Mr. Margolis holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation through the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), where he is also an active member, and is recognized as a Board Leadership Fellow through the National Association of Corporate Directors.
