Mr. Shelby's career journey has been marked by significant milestones. Prior to his current endeavors, he served as a staff accountant at Brunke & Company LLC in Virginia Beach from 2019 to 2021. His earlier experience includes working as a staff accountant at Vining Sparks in Memphis, Tennessee, from 2016 to 2019 and at IBC Manufacturing Company in Memphis from 2010 to 2016.
In addition to his primary roles, Mr. Shelby has contributed his expertise as an advisor for Advisory Cloud from 2021 to 2022. His dedication to his profession is further evidenced by his membership in industry-related organizations such as the AICPA, Phi Beta Kappa and Dope CFO, an AICPA & nationally recognized cannabis accounting authority.
Mr. Shelby's academic background has played a crucial role in his success. Initially studying real estate and mortgage finance at Mississippi State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, he went on to receive a master's degree in accountancy from Purdue University in 2014. His certifications include Cannabis Accounting and Regulatory Compliance from the Dope CFO Cannabis accounting training program.
Mr. Shelby attributes his success to his strong work ethic and relentless determination, qualities he learned from observing his father navigate professional challenges. Inspired by his father's career at the Mississippi State Tax Commission, Mr. Shelby discovered his natural aptitude for accounting during high school and decided to pursue it as a career.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Shelby has been actively involved in various civic-minded organizations. He served on the advisory boards of Dancing Goat Gardens, Rookie Rides, Quench Innovations, Interstate Hydrogen, and Finance Lobby from 2021 to 2022.
Outside of his career, Mr. Shelby enjoys going to the beach, playing chess, reading, watching TV shows or movies, and spending time with his family. Looking ahead, he aims to expand his firm's annual revenue significantly by attracting new prospects and growing through acquisition. His ultimate goal is to establish a real estate company focused on development and property management, creating a sustainable legacy for his children.
