Before being recruited by Neogen Corporation, Mr. Bonifaz was hired by 3M Company, beginning in Guatemala, his home country in 1997 as a Customer Service and sales Leader, After 10 years of successful results, Ricardo and his family were relocated to Panama in 2005 as a country black belt Six Sigma involved in leading the country's initiatives and goals for growth, cash and cost reduction. Over the next 15 years, he advanced to work in global marketing, became a country business leader for Industrial Business Group and government markets, an Automotive Aftermarket Division sales and marketing regional manager, a new product marketing manager, and a global portfolio manager. Today, Mr. Bonifaz has remained on board as a global new product introduction and business development leader and since 2020 in a hybrid capacity based in St. Paul, MN.
One of Mr. Bonifaz's most notable achievements was taking on the role of country manager for 3M's subsidiary port during his tenure in Panama. This experience was challenging and rewarding, requiring him to manage diverse responsibilities ranging from human resources and finance to psychology and sales.
Mr. Bonifaz's journey began with his academic achievements. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Universidad Rafael Landivar and a second bachelor's degree in marketing from the Universidad del Istmo in 1997.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Bonifaz has been actively involved in several industry- and civic-related organizations. He was a member of the Latino Resource Network at 3M, Secretary and Treasurer of the board of AMCHAM Guatemala, member and founder of the events committee for the Green Building Council Panama since 2010, and a member of the Credit Card Guild of Guatemala.
