Mr. Brink's tenure at MCAA has been marked by significant achievements, including creating new resources and managing partnerships with MCAA members, key trade association partners, labor partners and critical end users.
Before joining MCAA, Mr. Brink served for over 11 years as the Executive Vice President of the Mechanical & Service Contractors Association of Eastern Pennsylvania, where he was instrumental in fostering positive labor-management relationships that benefited contractors and local unions alike. He also served for 21 years as Chief Executive Officer at C. H. Stone Plumbing Co., Inc., his family's contracting business in Los Angeles, where he honed his skills as a mechanical contractor and in labor relations.
Mr. Brink's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Santa Clara University, completion of MCAA's Advanced Leadership Institute, a UA Journeyman Plumber classification, and a diploma from Loyola High School. His education has been foundational to his success, providing him with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of the contracting industry.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Brink is and has been an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the UA/MCAA Strategic Planning Committee, The National Coordinating Committee for Multiemployer Plans (NCCMP), The Plan for the Settlement of Jurisdictional Disputes, Construction Labor Research Council (CLRC), John R Gentille Foundation, and is a former member of Vistage Worldwide, California Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Association (CPMCA) and the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC). He is also part of an industry alliance with The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC), Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA), National Electrical Contractors Associations (NECA). His involvement underscores his commitment to advancing the industry through collaboration and advocacy.
Mr. Brink's contributions extend beyond his professional life into civic engagement. He coached youth baseball for 21 years and sat on the UDJAA board of directors as the Travel Baseball Commissioner, volunteers annually with Convoy of Hope, and with his wife Amy supported St. John of God Retirement Home for 17 years and they were presented with the Saint Benedict Menni Award for their service.
When he is not busy with his career, Mr. Brink enjoys cooking, golfing, travelling and spending time with his wife Amy (35 years) and their dog Murphy. He is also a devoted family man who enjoys quality time with their three sons: Taylor and his wife Jenna and their five children Lucas, Sophia, Savannah, Ivy and Emmett; Jonathan and his wife Becca, and their youngest son Riley. Looking ahead, Mr. Brink aims to continue making a positive impact on the unionized mechanical sector and help MCAA prepare for the future of mechanical contracting by coaching and nurturing the next generation of the association's members, staff and leadership.
