Michael's story began when he fulfilled his lifelong passion of becoming an auctioneer. His Dad owned car dealerships and, as a child, Michael tagged along with him to auctions, where he became enamored with the bold, eccentric personalities of the auctioneers. At the young age of seven he knew exactly what he wanted to become. In 1992, he got his auctioneer's license and began selling cars and real estate. When a mentor suggested he also get his real estate license to make additional money, he took that advice.
Years later, Michael would achieve unrivaled success as an auctioneer and real estate broker by being actively involved in the sale of over 81,000 homes and licensed in as many as 31 states in the continental U.S. By 2013, he had become America's Top Selling Real Estate Auctioneer, and was featured on most major media outlets, including CNN, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, and Inside Edition. It was an incredible run, and after seven successful years of auctioning and brokering homes across the country, the REO and foreclosure market was finally slowing down. The time had come for Michael to head back home to North Georgia (or Jefferson, Georgia) to grow his local real estate brokerage.
One of his first steps in growing the brokerage was to hire Tonya Eberhart, Founder of BrandFace, LLC. He was intrigued by her marketing and branding expertise, as well as her mantra, "People don't do business with a logo. They do business with a person." Immediately, he put her exclusive personal branding concepts to work at his own brokerage by leveraging his national success and genuine approach to stellar service. As a result, his business quadrupled over the next twelve months. That growth has continued to double (or greater) year over year by attracting both clients and top performing agents.
On the heels of that success, Michael co-authored "BrandFace for Real Estate Professionals" and "BrandFace for Entrepreneurs", both with Tonya Eberhart. Both books became international bestsellers on Amazon, and he became a partner and COO of BrandFace. Inside his brokerage, Michael's focus evolved to teaching his real estate agents how to utilize the same personal branding strategies that had made him successful. It was these efforts that have brought great recognition for Michael Carr & Associates throughout the region, including the honor of being named Best Real Estate Brokerage by Georgia Business Journal for the last 3 years.
On a more personal note, Michael is a backyard beekeeper who first connected his love of business to the miraculous world of bees. He credits his success to creating organizations that can operate like a beehive, where the "whole is greater than the sum of its parts". In 2022, he founded Bee My Blessing®, a company designed to give local organizations the opportunity to fund their worthy initiatives by selling honey to raise money. He lives by the axiom of getting everything you want out of life by helping others get what they want first.
