She also thrived as an RN in the emergency department at Emerson Hospital from 2015 to 2016, and Ms. Shanning committed to a broad patient base as an emergency room RN with Cambridge Health Alliance from 2016 to 2018. Alongside these important health care service appointments, Ms. Shanning has concurrently excelled as the leader of a small business by serving as the owner of Home Spa Designs since 2006.
Ms. Shanning's professional affiliations have provided her with numerous opportunities for growth and development within the field of nursing. She has been a member of the Massachusetts Nurses Association since 2009 and the Emergency Nurses Association since 2000, and she remains actively involved in civic organizations, including the Boston Food Bank, Pine Street Inn, her local church and the St. Jude Research Foundation.
