In 1958, he earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine in general and behavioral dental medicine from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in biology and a diploma from Boston College. Dr. Weiner attributes his success to his faith in God, the unwavering support of his family, especially his wife, and the exceptional education and mentorship he received throughout his academic journey.
Dr. Weiner's professional journey began with an intention to pursue a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with a specialty in maxillofacial surgery; however, his path pivoted when he entered active duty in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962. Upon completing his military service, he found an opportunity at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he remained dedicated to dentistry and academia for 35 years.
In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Weiner has made significant contributions through numerous publications. He authored "The Fearful Dental Patient: A Guide to Understanding and Managing" in 2011 and "The Difficult Patient: A Guide to Understanding and Managing Dental Anxiety" in 1994. His articles were translated into Japanese, Spanish, and German. They inspired and helped many in the field of dentistry. Dr. Weiner also lectured nationally and internationally.
