AUBURN, ME, August 01, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Edward Judd has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Judd, a distinguished musician, orchestrator, and author, has made significant contributions to the field of music education and composition in a career that has spanned nearly 50 years. He spent 46 of those years as a music teacher in the Maine towns of Lewiston, Auburn, and Lisbon, teaching at all grade levels and even serving as a college band director at Holy Cross College. He also taught at Newfound Regional High School in Bristol, NH. He retired in 2021 but continues to write arrangements for school groups with limited instrumentation, offering his services free of charge as a way of giving back to the profession.

In 2019, Mr. Judd wrote his memoir, "View from the Podium," detailing his nearly half-century teaching young musicians. The book garnered attention from Lewiston Sun Journal newspaper, which featured it in an article. He maintains connections with many former students who continue to reach out to him, reflecting the lasting impact he has had on their lives.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Judd also founded Creative Music Productions, a venture inspired by his mother, a dance teacher who struggled to find suitable music for her classes. This music composition endeavor evolved into a successful commercial enterprise, although it faced challenges with technological advancements. His forward-thinking approach now features his compositions for dance instruction through online platforms, embracing the digital era with enthusiasm. His primary instrument is the string bass, and he served as the principal bass player at the Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra in Meredith, New Hampshire, for 10 years.

In the first decade of his teaching career, Mr. Judd earned his master's degree in music education from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, graduating in 1982. His professional affiliations include membership in the National Association for Music Education and past presidency of the Maine Music Educators Association. He has also served as a delegate at the International Symposium for Music Education. His dedication to music education has been recognized with a district service award from the Maine Music Educators Association.

Outside of his career, Mr. Judd enjoys playing with a band during the summer season. He has just released his next book and has set up a process to make his compositions for dance instruction available online through his personal website, www.edwardjudd.com. His determination to streamline this process underscores his commitment to making his work accessible to all.

Mr. Judd's legacy in music education and composition is marked by his unwavering dedication, innovative spirit and profound impact on students and colleagues alike. He attributes his success to his passion for music and his strong work ethic, which have been instrumental in his lengthy career in music.
