Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Akbari designed three clinical trials concerning the first self-fitting over-the-counter hearing aids, including the first artificial intelligence-based self-fitting system from Tuned, an Israeli company. Dr. Akbari's academic background includes a Bachelor of Music in music synthesis, magna cum laude, from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2006. Subsequently, he studied at the University of Minnesota in Twin Cities, earning a Master of Arts in speech-language-hearing sciences and a Doctor of Audiology in 2013. Additionally, Dr. Akbari received a certificate of clinical competence in audiology. Aside from his education, Dr. Akbari's professional affiliations include membership in the American Speech Language Hearing Association, is involved with the Acoustical Society of America's Bioacoustics Working Group, and is a fellow in the American Academy of Audiology and the Academy of Doctors of Audiology. Moreover, Dr. Akbari serves as a chairperson for the American National Standards Institute accredited Acoustical Society of America S3 Working Group 48 and is a US-recognized delegate to the International Electrotechnical Commission, Technical Committee 29.
