During this period, he led numerous innovations in medical device technology. From 2014 to 2016, Dr. Fariabi was the senior director of research and development for medical devices, orthopedics, product development and innovations at Ellipse Technologies Inc. His role as the director of research and development and process engineering at IDEV Technologies Inc. between 2010 and 2014 also contributed to his expertise in medical device innovation.
Dr. Fariabi's earlier career included roles as the vice president of research and development and advanced materials at Nfocus Neuromedical Inc. and vice president of research and development at Biosensors International. He also garnered leadership expertise as the senior director of research and as the director of medical devices and innovations at Edwards Lifesciences. Dr. Fariabi's extensive experience began as the vice president of research and development and operation at Advanced Stent Technologies Inc. He has been working in the medical field since 1982.
As a seasoned researcher, Dr. Fariabi has been credited with approximately 50 patents, including the Braid-Balls Embolic Devices, methods for maintaining the patency of collateral channels in the lungs using cryo-energy, and devices and methods for percutaneous repair of the mitral valve via the coronary sinus.
