Before advancing into his current role, Dr. Henderson held almost every position in imaging service departments from 1996 to 2020, working in various imaging modalities. During his tenure at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, he was instrumental in galvanizing the imaging department and making numerous improvements to enhance patient satisfaction, customer service and improving the overall patient experience. Most notably, Dr. Henderson's dedicated efforts and collaborative approach advanced his imaging department into the digital age and increased patient satisfaction scores.
In addition to his work at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Henderson currently serves as the President and CEO of the Henderson Heart Foundation, his non-profit foundation that provides imaging equipment and medical supplies to underprivileged medical facilities around the world. He also makes meaningful contributions beyond these key professional roles as being an accomplished author, and recently published his first book "Satisfaction Guaranteed? A Comprehensive Comparison of Two Nations Health Care Policies and How They Impact Patient Satisfaction" (available on Amazon).
Dr. Henderson relies on his exceptional academic education and career training, attributing his overall drive for higher education to his many mentors who motivated him from childhood through his doctoral degree. He attributes his success thus far to his grandparents and parents' exemplary work ethic and dedication, which instilled in him a deep belief in the value of higher education and the constant pursuit of advancement throughout his clinical career.
Dr. Henderson currently serves on the administrative boards of several local universities, colleges and medical conferences and is a member of several national industry-related organizations including the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the American Hospital Radiology Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives. His contributions to the field have been recognized with awards in patient satisfaction from Press Ganey in 2022 and the American Hospital Radiology Association's Award of Excellence in Radiology in 2024. Dr. Henderson also works as a consultant and has been featured in multiple imaging magazine's leadership spotlights and speaks regularly at radiology and imaging conferences throughout the United States.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Henderson is actively involved in civic organizations, such as the Los Angeles Rescue Mission, the Hope of the Valley homeless shelter, the San Fernando Valley food bank and the MEND organization in Pacoima. He achieves his life balance by traveling the world with his wife, absorbing other countries' cultures, experiences and cuisines, having visited 82 countries across all seven continents. Looking toward the future, Dr. Henderson aims to research, write and publish another book on the topic of health care.
