He initially worked on high-rise buildings in Brooklyn before relocating to California to work on housing projects in Mission Viejo. Mr. Conboy's career then transitioned into risk management, where he focused on reducing risks and making buildings more insurable, particularly in areas facing a fire insurance crisis in the western U.S. His work involved collaborating with insurance companies and convincing underwriters that their help would make buildings insurable.
Mr. Conboy completed an AIA U.S. GreenBuild Council-approved course through GreenCE. Additionally, he became a published author with the release of the book "Nature is Screaming. The book underscores the impact of human activities on the environment since the post-World War II housing boom and emphasizes the importance of environmental sustainability and safety.
Throughout his career, Mr. Conboy has received several prestigious awards, including the EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year, the Thomas Edison Award in Chicago, the Connect Award in San Diego, and the IRMI Award for risk insurance and risk management in Houston. He attributes his success to the importance of accreditation and substantiating claims with scientific evidence from third-party accredited laboratories.
