Through his work at Fractal, Dr. Ouedraogo has partnered with such major clients as Google, Verizon, Mattel and others. He has positioned himself as a thought leader in AI, machine learning and natural language processing.
Before joining Fractal, Dr. Ouedraogo built his reputation as a data scientist at Insight Data Science. He helped spread knowledge as a graduate teaching assistant at Binghamton University for several years, as a math tutor at 1 On 1 Academic Tutors and as adjunct faculty at Aube Nouvelle University in Burkina Faso. Dr. Ouedraogo's early professional life includes lengthy tenures as a retail manager at Designer Suit Factory and Stacy Adams, where he showcased his capabilities for mentoring employees and determining qualitative and quantitative strategies to improve performance.
A strong academic background provides the foundation for Dr. Ouedraogo's success. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in computer science and electrical engineering from Cadi Ayyad University in 2001, followed by a Master of Science in data science from The City University of New York's School of Professional Studies in 2016. Dr. Ouedraogo earned a PhD in systems science from Binghamton University in 2022. He has continued his education outside of school, learning numerous tech stacks and tools, including as MySQL, Azure, AWS, Databricks and many more. Dr. Ouedraogo credits his accomplishments to resilience, talented mentors and his passion for and mastery of mathematics.
Dr. Ouedraogo joined several industry-related organizations while in school, including the Alpha Pi Mu Industrial Engineering Honor Society and The National Society of Leadership and Success. His achievements have been recognized through numerous accolades. Notably, while attending Binghamton University, Dr. Ouedraogo received the Klir Scholarship for Graduate Excellence in Systems Science. In 2019, he published research on using classification algorithms to diagnose breast cancer in the journal Applied Medical Informatics.
Outside of his career, Dr. Ouedraogo gives back to his community by participating in local church activities. He is a devoted husband and father to two children, and he enjoys cooking and watching soccer in his free time. In planning for the future, Dr. Ouedraogo intends to continue doing intensive research into AI and machine learning with hopes of discovering new innovations for this cutting-edge technology. He also plans to seek out more opportunities for entrepreneurship within his industry.
