HOUSTON, TX, August 02, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marcus T. Williams, RCDD, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on nearly 25 years of experience in structural engineering and cabling, Mr. Williams currently serves as a cable plant engineer at Leidos. Through the company's partnership with NASA, he provides structured cabling installation to corporate NASA buildings alongside other telecommunications design and construction assistance. Mr. Williams lends his expertise toward training entry-level and journeymen technicians, both at Leidos and as a Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) certified trainer at San Jacinto College. His work as an instructor has become the most notable highlight of his career; he feels empowered by witnessing the transformation from students with limited knowledge of basic tools to well-rounded engineers who can thrive in the industry.

Concurrently to those two roles, Mr. Williams also contributes as a telecommunications technician at Electra Spring, where he performs aerial installation of fiber optic cable in chemical plant areas. His past experience includes lengthy tenures as a fiber optic technician with AT&T and as the director of training at The Splicer Lease School. Mr. Williams spent several years as a technician for General Dynamics Information Technology in Afghanistan, where he helped install a copper and fiber optic cable infrastructure for both military and civilian use. He gained foundational experience as an avionics technician with the United States Navy, during which time he took his first training course with BICSI and became a subject matter expert for the military in the area of cabling and telecommunications infrastructure design.

Mr. Williams' successful career has been supported by his solid academic background. He received an associate's degree in electrical engineering from ITT Technical Institute in 2015, followed by earning a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Houston Community College in 2017. Mr. Williams has furthered his education by completing multiple certifications from BICSI, including as a trainer, technician and registered communications distribution designer. He attributes his success to being set on the path during his military service.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Williams serves his wider community as a volunteer at the Houston Food Bank. His contributions have been recognized with the receipt of a good conduct award from the United States Navy.

Beyond his professional life, Mr. Williams is a dedicated husband and father to three children. He enjoys fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. Looking to the future, Mr. Williams hopes to transition into a new full-time role, either as an instructor or as a design engineer at NASA's Johnson Space Center. He finds great fulfillment in teaching the next generation of engineers and is excited by the opportunity to continue contributing to advancements at NASA.
