Mr. Patel is a senior process development engineer at Veolia North America, a role he has held since 2022. In this capacity, he applies his extensive expertise in industrial wastewater treatment, pilot testing, engineering evaluation, detailed engineering, project management, procurement, PSM and PHA reviews, commissioning and start-up, and regulatory affairs to strengthen his contributions to the company. Mr. Patel's proficiency in these areas is notably the result of a career spanning over a decade in the environmental and wastewater engineering sector.
Prior to being recruited by Veolia, Mr. Patel was a project wastewater engineer at Arcadis from 2021 to 2022 and a water-wastewater engineer at CONSOR Engineers in 2021. He also upheld the title of wastewater product development and research and development engineer II at De Nora from 2013 to 2021, where he made significant contributions to the field, and project engineer in the environmental, wastewater, and research and development areas at Cosmos Technologies Inc. between 2009 and 2013.

He holds between 15 and 20 patents overall, underscoring his innovative contributions to environmental engineering and his commitment to advancing the industry. As a seasoned professional, Mr. Patel has co-authored few articles in the professional publications of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and Lamar University regarding packaged wastewater treatment system, degrading suspended solids, organics, and nutrients from wastewater. Mr. Patel has also peer reviewed 3 books and/or manuals of practice (MOPs) published by the Water Environment Federation.
Looking ahead, Mr. Patel aims to continue making strides in the wastewater and environmental industry while establishing himself as a leading expert. Additionally, he is passionate about mentoring emerging engineers and contributing to their professional development within the industry.
Civically involved, Mr. Patel has been an expert judge for the Globee Awards and The Stevie® Awards since 2022. He has also been active with various community and professional organizations, including the Water Environment Federation, the Water Environment Association of Texas, and the Lamar University Alumni Association. Adding to his professional success, Mr. Patel was elected as a fellow (FIMarEST) of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science, and Technology.
The foundation of Mr. Patel's professional success can be traced back to his academic pursuits. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering in environmental engineering from Gujarat University in 2006 and a Master of Science in environmental engineering from Lamar University in 2009 with the assistance of an academic scholarship. His formative education was completed at J.L. High School in 2002. Mr. Patel also received several professional designations, including as a professional environmental engineer (P.E.) registered in the State of Texas, chartered engineer (CEng), and chartered marine engineer (CMarEng) registered with the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science, and Technology (IMarEST).
In recognition of his professional excellence, Mr. Patel has been honored with several accolades from De Nora Water Technologies Texas LLC, including Innovator Recognition Awards in 2018 to 2021, a Shining Star Award in 2019.
