Prior to joining Expedia Group, Mr. Finch was appointed as the chief product and technology officer for global insurance at Amazon, which followed stints as the chief technology officer for treasury and insurance and as the director of financial technology strategy at Amazon. During his tenure at Amazon, he was instrumental in developing a comprehensive technology strategy for managing the company's internal financial transactions. This included building a road map and blueprint for an in-house bank at Amazon, a project that stands out as one of Mr. Finch's most notable career achievements due its complexity, scale, and future impact.
Mr. Finch's earlier career also includes serving as an adjunct professor at the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University, where he shared his extensive knowledge of management and technology with Master of Business Administration students. He had a lengthy tenure with PwC, where he worked as the director of management and technology consulting. During his time with PwC, Mr. Finch worked with Microsoft as a consultant, leading to another major career highlight; he oversaw the expansion of Microsoft retail stores from zero to 120 locations. His professional journey began with a role as vice president of technology at JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Looking at Mr. Finch's academic background reveals the foundation for his successful career. He received a Bachelor in Business Administration in marketing from The George Washington University School of Business in 1998. Mr. Finch earned his Master of Business Administration in finance from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame in 2007. Outside of his professional life, Mr. Finch is dedicated to excelling as a leader, husband, and father to four children while maintaining a healthy balance between these roles.
