RALEIGH, NC, August 05, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Daniel J. Homick, JD, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Homick, an accomplished in-house counsel with Axiom Law, has dedicated more than 45 years to the legal profession. With a specialization in commercial real estate development and financing, he has established himself as an expert in his field. He has been with Axiom Law since 2021, where he continues to practice law part-time while semi-retired. He has also served as an adjunct professor of modern Russian history at Shaw University since 2023.

Mr. Homick's career is marked by significant achievements and diverse roles. He began his professional journey as an attorney at law from 1978 to 1980 before serving as associate general counsel at Home Marketing of America, American Invsco, from 1980 to 1982. His tenure at Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation from 1982 to 1987 saw him rise from residential marketing program manager to vice president of mortgage securities. During this period, he played a pivotal role in developing a national program for jumbo loans, achieving monthly originations of at least $100 million per month.

From 1987 to 1989, Mr. Homick served as senior vice president of capital markets and marketing at CenTrust Bank, followed by a role as vice president of direct placements at GE Capital Mortgage Corporation from 1989 to 1996. His expertise in structured finance was further honed during his time as vice president of structured finance and principal at Berean Capital Partners from 1996 to 2003. Additionally, he held leadership positions at American Invsco, Skyline Equities Realty and United Guaranty Corporation.

In the early 2000s, Mr. Homick served as president and chief executive officer of Carolina Equity Investments Inc., followed by roles at American Surveying and Mapping Inc., Old Republic Title Company, and HigherSchool. Since 2009, he has also been involved with various corporate and nonprofit boards, demonstrating his commitment to governance and community service.

Mr. Homick's academic background is equally impressive. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in history, speech and philosophy from John Carroll University in 1969 and a Master of Arts in Soviet and East European history from the same institution in 1971. In 1972, he obtained a diploma in international studies from the University of Vienna, followed by a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in 1978. His many certifications include a notary public appointment from the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State and Series 7 and Series 63 NASD securities licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

Throughout his career, Mr. Homick has been actively involved in professional organizations such as the Mortgage Bankers Association, the American Historical Association, the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies, the Association of Investment Management Sales Executives, the International Bar Association, Delta Sigma Rho Honor Society and Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Homick has contributed to numerous civic organizations. He has served as chief legal officer and senior fellow at the Valenta Center for Strategic Issues, precinct official for the Wake County Board of Elections, president of the board at Palm Manor Condominium Association since 2009, and director and corporate secretary for Next Generation Education Inc., among other roles.

Mr. Homick's dedication to his profession and community has earned him several accolades, including being named a fellow of the American Bar Foundation in 2022 and receiving the title of Admiral of the Georgia Navy from Governor George Busbee in 1981. He has also authored several articles for professional journals.

In 2024, Mr. Homick and his wife Victoria donated their complete collection of over two thousand political and historical books and pamphlets for scholarly research to the Ukrainian Museum-Archives in Cleveland, Ohio. This rare collection, printed almost exclusively in the Soviet Union, will help future generations better understand the transition from Imperial Russia to the horrific acts of aggression against Ukraine by Russian President Vladimir Putin today that were started in 2014. Named by the archive as the "Soviet Legacy Collection" it is in memory of their mutual teacher, Dr. Michael S. Pap, the late Ukrainian nationalist professor at John Carroll University. This sixty year old collection is unique because it is complete, in mint condition, in English, and is supplemented by expanded texts in Russian as well as by texts from other communist countries. It is believed to be the only collection of its kind outside the archives of the Russian Federation.

Mr. Homick attributes his success to perseverance, hard work, a willingness to embrace failure, continuous innovation and strategic reinvention throughout his career. In his personal life, he enjoys watching Ukrainian history documentaries and spending time with his wife and children. Looking ahead, he plans to travel and dedicate more time to his family.
