In this role, she has been instrumental in revitalizing the organization, ensuring its services remain free for women aged 16 and older. Mrs. Treadwell's efforts include partnering and collaborating with over 116 referral agencies and training programs focused on women. Dress for Success Memphis, provides interview and work appropriate attire, confidence boosts, career services and career development to women making the transition into the workplace.
Having retired in 2015 Mrs. Treadwell has had a tenured career marked by a series of significant roles, she previously garnered success as a business development specialist at Maximus from 2014 to 2015 and as a Verizon wireless phone service provider call center operations manager for Conduit Global in 2014. From 2011 to 2014, Mrs. Treadwell was the program manager of job development and training at Bridges USA Inc., where she previously held positions as a job developer, career coach, and customer service trainer between 2007 and 2011. Additionally, she was the youth services manager at the City of Memphis Workforce Investment Network in 2009.
Among other noteworthy positions, Mrs. Treadwell was the director of career placement services at Southwest Tennessee Community College Department of Workforce Development from 2002 to 2007. She accepted a mayoral appointment to the City of Memphis Youth Opportunity Grant as in-school program manager from 2000-2002.
In 1998 Mrs. Treadwell was elected the youngest President/CEO of Memphis Partners, Inc., Youth Development Agency 1995-2000. Employed with the Tennessee Board of Regents as a JTPA 8% coordinator with the now Tennessee College of Applied Technology from 1994-95.
National Consultant and decorated Trainer for Jobs for America's Graduates, Incorporated 1988-2022. Mrs. Treadwell was employed for nine (9) years with the Pencil Foundation, working up from the ranks of a job specialist to the program director for Middle Tennessee with the Jobs for Tennessee Graduates Program 1984-1993.
Her expertise dates back to 1979 when she joined Minact Inc. as a maximum benefits specialist.
Mrs. Treadwell's academic background includes a bachelor's degree in psychology, cum laude, from Knoxville College in 1979 and coursework in graduate studies at the University of Tennessee and the University of Memphis.
In addition to her professional achievements, Mrs. Treadwell is actively involved in several professional and civic-minded organizations. A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. since 1977, she serves as financial secretary for Top Ladies of Distinction Inc. Memphis Chapter, is highly involved at the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, and member of the Black-Led Nonprofit Leadership Alliance with the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis
Mrs. Treadwell's contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the 2023 Neighborhood Champion Award from Bank of America, 2022 Nonprofit Affiliate Award from Leadership Memphis, the 2022 Connector Award from the City of Memphis Opportunity R3 Program, and recognitions from the Shelby County Government and the City of Memphis. She attributes much of her success to her family and her faith.
Mrs. Treadwell envisions establishing sustainable budget for Dress for Success Memphis while hiring dedicated staff members, expanding the volunteer base and corporate engagement, ensuring that the organization's services continue to benefit women in Memphis County and Shelby County.
