A seasoned energy industry professional with over three decades of business development and asset management expertise, Mr. Knippa excels as the president and chief executive officer of Boldwater Environmental Solutions. In this capacity, he has overseen the consolidation and restructuring of Boldwater Resources and Eco Environmental Services, focusing on oilfield treatments and recycling, hydrocarbon waste refinement, closed-loop drilling remediation, surface water bio-treatments for hydrocarbons, and more. Likewise, Mr. Knippa manages and implements processes that clean hydrocarbons in soils and water utilizing all-natural, non-GMO, environmentally-friendly methods.
Before joining Boldwater, Mr. Knippa worked for Aspen Pipeline LP. As managing partner, he contributed to various projects, including a low-cost off-specification fuel gas for combined-cycle natural gas-fired power plants. The project included 63 miles of 20-inch pipeline and gathering, compression, dew point processing, and dehydration for incoming natural gas production. During the early stages of his career, Mr. Knippa gained valuable industry expertise as the director of project origination at Enron Corp., through which he oversaw commodity sales, contract structuring, and the final divestiture of the Enron Compression Service assets.
An expert in his field, Mr. Knippa completed the executive program for corporate finance at Rice University. He studied natural gas and chemical engineering, power generation, gas compression, and more at Texas A&M University. Due to his vast knowledge and dedication, he obtained a patent for a bioremediation process. While his career has been filled with highlights, he is most proud of addressing the waste stream from drilling operations. Although the project faced skepticism initially, Mr. Knippa's team successfully perfected the Rapid Remediation Bioremediaton processes that included all water base and all oil based drilling wastes including centrifuge waste while removing hydrocarbons to near non-detectable levels as determined by 3rd Party lab.
Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Knippa credits his success to continually pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with the technology at hand. He intends to step back from work and indulge more in his hobbies in the coming years. His ultimate goal is to transition operatons and management of the business over to his two children to continue offering product sales, project management, and technical instruction.
