From 2012 to 2022, she served as senior vice president of government affairs and public policy, where she built the company's presence in DC and played a pivotal role in public policy development to support a positive business environment for the company and industry. Previously, she was vice president of government affairs from 2004 when she opened the Fortune 10 company DC office, to 2012. Her 18-year tenure at AmerisourceBergen was marked by significant contributions to the company's growth and influence in the health care sector.
Ms. Norton's career also includes notable positions at other major corporations. From 1997 to 2004, she was vice president of government affairs at Amgen, where she was instrumental in shaping the company's public policy strategies. Before Amgen, she held the same title at Hoffmann-La Roche., establishing and solidifying her policy leadership and expertise in government affairs and public policy development becoming one of the youngest heads of a DC office in the healthcare industry at the time. Earlier in her career she worked on Capitol Hill for the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee where she learned firsthand the intricacies and levers of influence of the lawmaking process.
Ms. Norton's academic background laid a strong foundation for her successful career. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications and political science from Marquette University. She also completed executive education in Leadership and Management and Finance at Columbia University.
