Earlier in his career at Leggett & Platt, Mr. Hoagland was the controller for the wire group from 2005 to 2014 and manager of internal audit from 1998 to 2005.
Mr. Hoagland began his tenure at Leggett & Pratt as an assistant controller, a position he held from 1994 to 1998, after starting his professional journey as an auditor at BKD CPAs & Advisors, where he worked between 1992 and 1994. Reflecting on his early days at BKD CPAs & Advisors, he recalls working with a mushroom manufacturer as his first client—a challenging experience that solidified his commitment to continuous improvement. This dedication has been a driving force throughout his career, leading him to the various roles at Leggett & Platt and ultimately to the establishment of his own successful firm.
Coupled with his extensive professional experience across various roles, Mr. Hoagland holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration in accounting from Missouri Southern State University, which he earned in 1991, making him the first in his family to graduate from college. Additionally, he is a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant who holds memberships with both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Management Accountants. Such credentials have been instrumental in his ability to navigate complex financial landscapes and provide strategic guidance to his clients.
Throughout his career, Mr. Hoagland has been actively involved in industry-related organizations. Currently, he serves on the board of directors for Wire Association International and previously held board positions with the American Wire Producers Association from 2020 to 2024 and Home Medical Equipment Services from 2015 to 2021. Moreover, his earlier contributions include serving on the board of directors for the Joplin Humane Society from 1991 to 1994.
