Currently serving as a member and attorney at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott LLC since 2009, he has built a reputation for expertise in business litigation, particularly in partnership law, distressed real estate and commercial disputes. His tenure at Eckert spans 15 years, during which he has consistently demonstrated his ability to navigate complex legal challenges, representing local and national clients and institutions in over 25 states.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Kulig was a senior counsel at Holland & Knight LLP from 2003 to 2009. He began his career at Goldstein & Manello, where he progressed from associate to partner between 1985 to 2003. This foundational experience provided him with a comprehensive understanding of both plaintiff and defendant case perspectives, enabling him with skills to settle the most difficult cases.
Mr. Kulig's academic background laid the groundwork for his successful career. Following graduation from Cathedral High School where he was a champion runner, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government from Lafayette College in 1981. He then earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from Villanova University School of Law in 1984, where he served on the Law Review. His education has been instrumental in shaping his sound judgment and empathetic approach, which have become hallmarks of his practice.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Kulig is actively involved in several industry-related organizations. He has been a professionally trained arbitrator for commercial disputes with the American Arbitration Association since 2018. He also served as president of the New England chapter of the Villanova Law School Alumni Association from 2008 to 2011 and is a founding member of the Boston chapter of the Villanova Business Society. His leadership extends to the President's Club at Villanova University and the leadership board of the Boston chapter of the Lafayette College Alumni Association.
Mr. Kulig's commitment to civic engagement is evident through his involvement with various organizations. He has been a member of the board of directors for Generation Citizen since 2017 and a charter member and chair of the board of trustees for Pope Francis Preparatory School in his hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts, since 2016. Additionally, his experience coaching track at Charlestown High School helped lead to the creation of the Boston Scholar-Athletes Foundation.
