Ms. Favorite has dedicated her career to the field of education, where she has made significant strides in leadership and student development. She currently serves as the Founding School Director at DSST: Elevate Northeast High School in Denver, a position she has held since 2021.
Elevate Northeast is part of DSST Public Schools, a network of public, open enrollment, free charter schools in Denver and Aurora, Colorado. Her career with DSST Public Schools began in 2018 when she was appointed the Founding Dean of Students at the DSST: Middle School at Noel Campus, a brand new middle school. At a chartered district with 16 schools, she played a pivotal role in establishing the 15th campus. Initially serving as an administrator for sixth to eighth grade, she later transitioned to DSST: Elevate Northeast High School.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Favorite served as the Founding Dean of Students at Crescent City Schools in New Orleans from 2013 to 2018. During that same period, she was also a facilitator for the NHP Foundation's Operation Pathway Programs. Her earlier career roles took her to various cities across the United States, including stints as a coordinator for HealthCorps in New Orleans and an instructor at Agape Community Center in Atlanta.
While earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Grambling State University, Ms. Favorite gained valuable experience as an intern at the Ruston Lincoln Convention Visitors Bureau; as a committee member for the American Cancer Society; as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters; and as a student coordinator for the Grambling Sports Radio Network. In 2016, she furthered her education by earning a Master of Science in Human Behavior from Capella University. In addition to her degrees, she is certified as an integrative wellness and life coach by the Integrative Wellness Academy.
Ms. Favorite's remarkable success can be attributed to her unwavering determination and continuous pursuit of excellence. She was driven by her mother's teachings of hard work and resourcefulness. Her relentless drive has enabled her to set and surpass personal goals while making a positive impact on her community and the children she works with. In 2019, she received the DSST: Respect Core Value Award, and as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated she continues to inspire those around her with her leadership and commitment to positive change within the education system.
Ms. Favorite's ambitions extend beyond personal attainment, as she is driven to make a positive impact on her community. To that end, she is actively involved in several civic-minded organizations, including Relay For Life, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, and Young Black Leaders.
Outside of her professional life, Ms. Favorite enjoys watching sports, spending time with friends, and traveling. Over the next several years, she is passionate about empowering and developing others through mentorship programs across multiple schools. Her dedication to personal growth and confidence-building exemplifies her sincere passion for cultivating the potential of others.
