During the early stages of her career, Dr. Davis taught students at Portland State University, coordinated programs on behalf of Chapman University, and served as a contributing faculty member and visiting professor of sociology at Western Washington University. Driven to remain abreast of ongoing changes in the mental health field, she aligns herself with several organizations, including the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. In conjunction with her professional endeavors, Dr. Davis also contributes to her community as the co-founder of Bellingham At Home. This virtual village helps seniors stay in their homes during their golden years by providing much-needed assistance.

An expert in her field, Dr. Davis holds a Master of Science from St. Cloud State University and a PhD in sociology from Michigan State University. Subsequently, she expanded her professional knowledge by completing a postdoctoral degree in organizations and mental health at Stanford University. Given her professional achievements, she received the Fulbright Senior Scholar Award. While her career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Davis takes the most pride in publishing her latest book, "Raging Current," Mental Illness and Family."

Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, Dr. Davis credits her success to her drive and motivation, the invaluable support of her late husband, a college administrator named James W. Davis, and several other mentors, including the late Bernard N. Meltzer and Bo Anderson. Looking toward the future, Dr. Davis intends to continue publishing her work.
