From 2019 to 2021, Ms. Dhillon was the chief business officer, overseeing financial activities and contributing to the school's stability and growth. Her journey at Kepler began as a business operations manager in 2018, a role that laid the groundwork for her subsequent promotions.
Before joining Kepler Neighborhood School, Ms. Dhillon found success as the managing director at Strategic Freight Network LLC from 2017 to 2021. Her leadership showcased her ability to drive business success across different sectors. In 2018, she also imparted her knowledge as a business instructor at Golden Plains Unified School District. Ms. Dhillon's earlier career included a position as a human relations coordinator in the retail sector at HomeGoods Stores from 2012 to 2013, where she honed her skills in employee relations and organizational management.
Ms. Dhillon's most notable accomplishment in the education sector lies in her ability to transform an underperforming school, safeguarding numerous jobs and creating a superior learning environment for students.
As a leader in her community, Ms. Dhillon has been actively engaged with several organizations devoted to education. Since 2023, she has served as a board director for the California Teaching Fellow Foundation and as a board advisor for the Disability Advisory Commission for the City of Fresno, California. Moreover, Ms. Dhillon is also a member of the Women's Chamber of Commerce, the Charter School Development Center, and the Fresno chapter of Rotary International.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Dhillon received an Associate of Science in business administration, management, and operations from Fresno City College in 2015. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management in 2017 and a Master of Business Administration in 2018 from California State University. Ms. Dhillon's dedication to education is further exemplified by her pursuit of a Doctor of Education in urban education and leadership business at the University of Southern California, which is expected to be completed in 2026.
As a dedicated professional, Ms. Dhillon is affiliated with several industry-leading organizations. She has been active on the education advisory committee of the Association of School Business Officials since 2020, as a Vice President of Networking for the central section of the California Association of School Business Officials since 2021, and as a board secretary for region nine of the Association of California School Administrators and a board advisory for the UC Riverside for women and executive leadership.
In light of her professional success, Ms. Dhillon was recognized with an Emerging Leader Award from the Association School of Business Officials in 2021. She was also fortunate to receive a Champion of Charity Award for a community project where she successfully raised the most funds. In addition, she also is the recipient of PAT Craft Scholarship and a BOB Reeves Scholarship from the California Association of School Business Organization in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
