In this role, he was responsible for various international financial sanctions compliance initiatives and played a pivotal role in developing and/or enhancing the firm's international sanctions alerts filtering training program and process that spanned over 20 countries and 5,000+ employees. Mr. Killian also succeeded as an Assistant Vice President at BNP Paribas between 2016 and 2020, where he contributed to the firm's training program success by traveling to firm locations globally to deliver seminars to international sanctions experts, work with his global counterparts to enhance their region's training programs and facilitate other training program initiatives, as necessary.
Mr. Killian's journey in the financial sector began at Citigroup Inc., where he held multiple roles over several years. From 2014 to 2016, he was an Assistant Vice President, focusing on Anti-Money Laundering Transaction Monitoring and Investigations. He initially joined Citigroup as a temporary compliance analyst in 2011 and later transitioned to compliance officer focusing on name screening between 2013 and 2014.
In preparation for his impending career, Mr. Killian received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Alabama in 2006. This educational foundation has been pivotal in his career, providing him with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the finance and banking industry. Additionally, Mr. Killian passed the certification exam to earn accreditation as a certified sanctions specialist through the Association of Certified Sanctions Specialists since 2020.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Killian is actively involved in civic initiatives, partakes in speaking engagements to under-privileged youth and is an avid world traveler having visited over 60 countries.
