Maurice J. Jordan Honored for Work as a Chef and Real Estate Professional

Harboring a desire to become a chef since his formative years, Maurice J. Jordan's path toward success began at the age of 13, washing dishes while fostering his passion for the kitchen. Starting from humble beginnings as a dishwasher at the Officer's Club at Charlestown's Boston Naval Shipyard, he stayed the course toward his goal of becoming a chef.

Mr. Jordan worked his way up in the restaurant and hotel industry first in Boston and then on to California, Florida and Hawaii. He achieved his goal of becoming a chef and then an executive chef, working for such name as Marriott Corporation and Delaware North Company.

Shifting his attention to the field of real estate in 2004, Mr. Jordan obtained his real estate and broker's licenses before establishing himself as a sales agent with Reliance Network and RE/MAX Commercial. He refined his experience as a residential sales associate with Coldwell Banker and Premier Realty, in Las Vegas NV. Broadening his skillset, Mr. Jordan then went on to become a property manager for DLS Scott Properties back in Los Angeles, CA. Not one to sit back, his next goal of becoming a general manager and broker associate was accomplished when he signed on with Coldwell Banker Wilshire Properties, Mr. Jordan currently manages six apartment buildings with approximately 150 tenants, as a property manager with SNT Properties.

Mr. Jordan has been affiliated with the Toastmaster's organization for the past 15 years, first joining as a Toastmaster and then advancing on to become President of his club and Area Governor. His involvement provided an opportunity to hone his personal team-building and public speaking skills and to mentor those around him to become confident speakers. He is still involved in his local chapter and has delivered over 200 speeches with the organization.

An advocate for working smarter as opposed to physically harder, Mr. Jordan has attributed his wealth of success to his dedication, discipline, and what he calls pride of ownership. Although he is incredibly proud of his work as a chef and real estate broker, Mr. Jordan believes his most notable achievement thus far is being a caregiver for his wonderful wife, who is afflicted with dementia, He has set a new goal to be a public speaker and advocate for families who live with dementia. He believes that compassionate care for those who live with dementia is vitally important to the quality of life. Mr. Jordan has also participated in several marathons throughout the country.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Jordan plans to continue his role as property manager for SNT Properties. At the same time, he will dedicate this season of his life toward pursuing public speaking engagements and advocating for those afflicted by mental health and illness challenges.
