With a career spanning 25 years, Dr. Ponnoly has established himself as an expert in IT cybersecurity and data analytics. His professional journey began in law enforcement, where he held various investigative roles with the Central Bureau of Investigation from 1976 to 1998. During this period, he handled high-profile cases, such as the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, significant white-collar corruption, economic and commercial crimes, as well as fraud. Dr. Ponnoly was also recognized for implementing technology to aid crime investigations, developing necessary software and designing crime management information systems and data analytics.
In 1998, Dr. Ponnoly co-founded JS IndSoft Systems Consultants Ltd., an information systems consulting company, serving as director until 2000. He also worked for Youngsoft Inc/H2H Solutions as a program manager and project manager from 2000 to 2001. From 2001 to 2007, he was affiliated with Nationwide Financial as a senior information security and management consulting manager. Over the next decade, Dr. Ponnoly's career flourished in roles with Resources Global Professionals, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Commerzbank AG, Cprning Inc. and Chevron.
Dr. Ponnoly holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in physics from Saint Berchmans College, University of Kerala. He also received a Master of Business Administration in finance from Ashland University in 2006, a Master of Science in computer and information systems security from Nova Southeastern University in 2013, and a Doctor of Business Administration in data analytics from Grand Canyon University in 2022. Dr. Ponnoly is an accredited trainer for certified information security managers and holds certification in the governance of enterprise IT by APMG International. He is also a certified information systems auditor, among other qualifications.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ponnoly has been an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the Academy of Management and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He is also an education board member and director of certifications and training with the Information Systems Audit and Control Association's Greater Houston chapter, further highlighting his commitment to the field.
