She has been involved with the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center, Child Abuse Prevention Services, and Youth and Shelter Services, and has worked tirelessly as a foster parent to break the cycle of abuse and addiction that has affected many children's lives. Outside of her professional life, Ms. Buhr enjoys spending quality time with her five children and husband, and engaging in outdoor activities, such as camping and traveling. Her personal experience as foster parent, as well as raising four children to adulthood who are now ALL college graduates, has been a source of immense pride and fulfillment. Her family continues to be her number one focus even as she continues to be a present figure in the community and professional field.
