His journey began as a thermal engineer at Warsaw University of Technology from 1981 to 1987. He then broadened his horizons as a visiting scientist at ETH Zurich between 1987 and 1988, followed by a postdoctoral research engineer role at the University of California Los Angeles until 1990. Dr. Jackowski's career continued to evolve as he assumed the role of senior heat transfer engineer at The Ralph M. Parsons Company from 1990 to 1995.

From 1995 to 2003, Dr. Jackowski was the process and mechanical engineering manager at Technip in Concord, California, where he further honed his skills. Subsequently, he became a principal process engineer at Eichleay, Inc. until 2005 before joining Chevron in Richmond, California, as a heat exchanger specialist. There, he engaged in the design, simulations, and troubleshooting of heat exchangers operating in upstream and downstream facilities until 2023.

Throughout his career, Dr. Jackowski has achieved several patents that underscore his commitment to innovation in energy production. Notably, he holds patents for an apparatus, process and system for delivering fluid to a distillation column since 2013 and treating fluid comprising hydrocarbons, water and polymer since 2023. His work on antifouling coatings, enhanced heat transfer surfaces, and advancements in thermosyphon reboilers have been particularly impactful.

Dr. Jackowski's academic background laid a strong foundation for his professional achievements. He graduated from Warsaw University of Technology with a Master of Engineering specializing in heat transfer in 1981 and a Doctor of Philosophy in mechanical engineering in 1987. He is also a registered professional mechanical engineer in California.

Dr. Jackowski's dedication to his field is evident through his professional accomplishments and involvement with industry-related organizations, such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Heat Transfer Research Inc. He is also committed to giving back to the community. He sponsors local charities, Doctors Without Borders, Mendocino Coast Children's Fund, and Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Moreover, Dr. Jackowski has authored and co-authored several scholarly works, including 'Comparison of Heat Exchanger Fouling Test Results for Once-Through and Recirculating Modes of Operation' in 2022 and 'Novel Surface Treatment to Mitigate Fouling in Heat Exchangers and Process Equipment Heat Transfer' in 2023. His publication in the journal of Heat Transfer Engineering about 'Impact of Non-Unform Fouling on Operating Temperatures in Heat Exchangers Networks' in 2017 resulted in revisions of American Petroleum Standards to enhance safety in operation of Hydrotreating units. His major accomplishments were summarized in 'Operational Issues Caused by Wrong Design Choices for Heat Exchangers' published in 2019 as a chapter of Heat Exchanger Design Handbook.

In light of his accomplishments, Dr. Jackowski has been recognized with awards, including the Ovation Award from Chevron and the National Award for Redesigning Steam Surface Condensers from the Ministry of Energy in Poland.
